[2018/05/25]

I received amended plans this morning.

The project is located in the community of Beltline, however Erlton was circulated since the Elbow River marks our northern boundary.

We did not comment on the original plans, however we offered to assist the Beltline CA if they had any issues. No meetings were held.

Today, we repeated our offer, and heard back from Sander Jansen, of the Cliff Bungalow / Mission CA, who was also circulated on this most recent version of the plans. He responded with some history that we were not aware of:

‘Thanks for reaching out. We’ve actually met with the developer on multiple occasions, the dialogue goes back to at least 3 years ago, and the proposed development has gone through various alterations. Since it has been quite an intensive process already, the DP will have very few surprises and most of our comments have been heard by the developer previously. Our biggest concerns were massing (both in terms of height and encroachment into the park) – both of which have been addressed. In terms of height, the developer has brought down the height quite considerably compared to what the DC allows for, and in terms of respect for the park – there won’t be building into the park and the developer has guaranteed to look after the integrity of the trees during construction.’

The complete file and plans are available for review. Please call if you would like to see them. They will also be available at our June community meeting.

I received this Development Permit application and plans this morning. A PDF of some of it is attached, along with two images.

The project is located in the community of Beltline, however Erlton was circulated since the Elbow River marks our northern boundary. I’ve contacted the Beltline CA to see if we can participate in their review.

The project is three towers on the north bank of the Elbow River between 1st Street SE and Macleod Trail, containing 1250 units plus retail and consumer services.

Here’s a link I found that discusses this project:
