Environmental Roundtable – Stormwater Management, April 4th!
Calgary began in the valleys and floodplains of the Bow and Elbow rivers. Today, our ecological footprint and land-use impacts are felt across the entire watershed. To protect our rivers, we need to manage the stormwater (rain and snowmelt) that flows through our streets and gardens. Come to the Federation of Calgary Communities and Calgary River Valleys Roundtable and learn about some important city-wide and community-level initiatives currently under way around Calgary.
Speakers will include:

  • Kerry Ross, University of Calgary: Green roofs in Calgary’s climate
  • Bert van Duin, City of Calgary Water Resources: Principles and practices of storm water management in Calgary
  • Lynn Rob, Trout Unlimited: Yellow Fish Road program

Sign-in starts are 6:30 pm and the event runs from 7 pm to 9 pm. The event will take place at the Water Centre, 625 25th Avenue SE:

Snacks will be provided!
