Alderman Carra’s team of Ward 9 volunteers (Karen, Lauren, Quinton and others) have done a great job of rallying volunteers and multiple organizations to assist with the clean-up here in Erlton on Tuesday and Wednesday. We thank them and the hundreds of you who have come out to assist!
But there’s still plenty to do
There are a few locations where you can help clean up Calgary on Thursday, but first:
Things to Bring
- Rubber boots
- Masks
- Gloves (extras if you have any)
- Garbage bags (lots)
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen
Additionally, the team needs other resources if you can bring them/drop them off:
- Flashlights
- 5-gallon pails/bins
- Food / Coffee / Water
- Shovels / Tools (not power tools)
Where to Help on Thursday

As mentioned, there are still plenty of opportunities to assist with cleaning up in Erlton. There will be a muster station set up at 2609 Erlton Street SW (map link) and for Rideau-Roxboro, you can find places to go by checking in at 3030 4th Street SW (map link).
Thanks
Once again, thanks to everyone who’s helped with the clean-up and particular thanks to Team Ward 9!
In addition to individual volunteers and company teams, the following organizations contributed to the volunteer initiative in the last couple of days and we thank them:
